I am 56 years old, and nowadays, because I have more mature skin, makeup just no longer was working well for me. I went to several local stores to buy makeup, and even purchased online makeup after getting recommendations from YouTube influencers. But I was very unhappy with the results. Enter Deanna Boyd. Deanna brims with positivity and can do spirit. As soon as I met her I knew I was in good hands. By the time our first session had ended, I knew why ahead of was so positive—this is a woman who knows her stuff.
I cannot recommend her highly enough if you want to have clean products (good for the environment as well as non toxic for your face and body), the right colors, understand how to apply products and makeup for your best looks (and she can teach you how to apply makeup for a night out dancing or a light, everyday look), and/or a makeover.
Deanna taught me how to apply makeup. She also did my colors so that I can know what works best for me in terms of clothes I wear, makeup I choose, and hair coloring. She is also available for the next time I want a professional look for a job interview, a party or an extra special date night.

I recently took advantage of Deanna’s color analyst skills and I am blown away. Even though I live far from her, I was able to schedule a virtual appointment. She has thought of everything - how to upload photos for her to see, what kind of light to use, what kind of photos to take, etc. I was really pleased with the ease of getting her all the necessary information ahead of time. Our virtual appointment was about 90 minutes and as a curious learner type, I was fascinated with her process of explaining the color theory prior to telling me what my colors are. As a result of her consultation, I feel much more confident shopping for myself and I feel like I look like my best self in my best colors. Another added value of working with Deanna is that because of her makeup artist experience, she recommended specific makeup for me based on her findings. Just so you know, seeing you was one of the best things I accomplished in 2025. Our visit opened my world. Your analysis confirmed some things I knew, reminded me of things I had forgotten, and opened me to new ideas.
As I commented in our session, the colors you identified for me I seem to be drawn to. I have those colors in my home. When I pulled out my winter clothes, I laughed. My favorite sweater is one of my palette greens and my favorite eye make up color.

Deanna was a rockstar for my wedding trial and the day of. She pivoted when I realized that my makeup trial wasn't how I wanted my final look on my wedding day, and the final result was amazing and exactly what I wanted. I'd been worried about having someone else do my makeup for a day full of pictures, and mostly pics of me! Deanna reassured me and helped me feel amazing the whole time I was in her studio. My makeup lasted from 9 am til after 2 am with no touch-ups needed, no breakouts after, and plenty of great tips for future makeup adventures. I was very unsure about what looks good on me and have struggled with finding the colors I felt confident in, but Deanna was both so welcoming and incredible knowledgeable. My experience with Deanna was amazing! I had a lot of questions for her and she answered all of them in detail to help me better understand. I like how she gives us the best complimentary colors and shades to gravitate towards, but she also gives you other options on what flatters you to make the options greater. Deanna is incredible to work with! I've done 2 separate sessions with her: one for makeup and one for color analysis. Not only were they both fun, since Deanna is a blast to work with, but they were so helpful. Her expertise as a makeup artist, paired with her color analysis, creates the best combo.
She encourages you to stick to your style, but provides insight and recommendations that bring out the best in you. After our sessions, I took her recommendations and continue to purchase the great (non/low toxic) products she suggests, and have used my color session results when shopping for new clothes and packing for trips.

Deanna is an amazing, Confident, and talented make up artist and photographer. She did my make up for a photo shoot with her and the ease of having makeup done that was camera ready was wonderful. She guided me in which of my outfits would be the most flattering in a photograph. She captured me at my best, and that was due to her talent to keep me comfortable and at ease while shooting, her eye through the camera, and her ability to do my make up and know how that would be captured through “film”. Stepping into the room was like entering a haven of creativity, bathed in natural light and adorned with meticulously organized shelves. From makeup brushes to palettes of color, everything was inviting and comforting.
Deanna's warm welcome led to a conversation about color. The color analysis was truly transformative. I saw my face go from ordinary to flattering in the mirror, all because of the scarf color draped across my chest. It was a revelation to discover that brown was more flattering on me than black. This was just one of the many enlightening moments during my color analysis session.
And then there was the makeup consultation and application. It was a joy to learn new techniques from a makeup artist and be guided as she examined my own brushes and makeup. We discussed the best brushes for applying makeup as well as cleaner makeup brands. I was thrilled to learn how to make my eyes pop.
After the session, I received a lot of information that was unique to me. There were color palettes, the makeup application used, outfit ideas, what hair colors look the best with my skin tone and more! It was so refreshing to have someone to ask questions about all these things as I step into my natural self and leave my forties.

From the second I stepped in to Deanna’s home studio, I was instantly put at ease. Getting my colors done is something I have always wanted to do, but is a little out of my normal and comfort zone. Her studio is beautiful, light filled, and welcoming.
She was so educational and really helped me figure out how to feel most confident in my wardrobe ( that normally consists of black leggings or scrubs).
The skincare and make up products she used were very high quality and clean. This is a very high priority to me, as most make up artists only care about performance—not safety. Deanna makes both a priority, and made me feel beautiful.
